A New Chapter Begins…

Hey! Welcome to Living Literary!

I am so excited to start this journey with my fellow book lovers and, of course, all of you book lovers-to-be *wink. And to my fellow writers, I'm so glad to connect with you here too.

About Me

My name is Nadashia (pronounced Nuh-day-zha), and I have been a lover of books and words for as long as I can remember. As a child, I lived for the Scholastic book fairs at school (if you know, you know!). And you would always find me eager to write a story or poem for English class.

Outside of school though, I’d spend my free time reading books at home, on the road, and even on vacation. My parents always found me with my nose in a book or writing away in my notepad—whether it was a story, a poem, or just random musings. Now, as a young adult, I’m still a lover of books; still a lover of words, and I want to share that passion with you.

Books were always my escape growing up—they were how I explored new worlds, met new people, and I completely lost myself in their stories. Writing, on the other hand, wasn’t about escaping. It was where my true thoughts and feelings lived, where I could express the most authentic version of myself. I didn’t just write to create stories and worlds like the ones I read; I wrote because my truest self existed on those pages. The pages became my safe space, and that connection between reading and writing has shaped so much of who I am today.

My Reading Habits And Preferences

My favorite genres are crime thrillers, police and detective fiction works, contemporary romance, and mysteries. I also love a good psychology thriller but with breaks in between because I need to sleep at night. Add a bit of humor in there or a bit of love and I'll probably pick it up too.

You can also find me reading other genres too: historical fiction, not quite a fantasy girl yet but I'm trying. (If you have fantasy recommendations, drop them below!) and I just recently discovered that I might even be becoming a literary fiction girly too.

I usually prefer physical books and e-readers BUT I just recently got into the world of audiobooks and safe to say, I love it here. I read in all your usual places: at home in my cozy spaces, outside in nature, on the road (audiobooks when driving of course cause I value my life and the lives of others, ya know.)

Something else about me: I love book quotes so I always keep removable highlighter stickys on me when reading. For writing, give me a cozy spot, some tea (hot or iced, no discrimination here), a quality pen and lots of paper (or my laptop too to be honest) and I'm good to go.

Reading, writing, something sweet, and endless cups of tea - just how I like it.
